Erasmus Mundus 2026-27: Joint Masters Explained

Erasmus Mundus 2026-27: Joint Masters Explained

Erasmus Mundus funds joint Master’s programs run by multiple European universities. You study in 2-3 countries and get a joint or multiple degrees.

Why it’s special

  • Study in 2-3 European countries in one program
  • Full scholarship: tuition, travel, monthly allowance (~€1,400)
  • No separate scholarship application — you apply to the program itself

How it works

Each ‘consortium’ (group of universities) runs its own program with its own deadline. Examples: data science, public health, environmental studies. You apply directly to the consortium, not via a central portal.

Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree (or final year)
  • Requirements vary by program (some need specific backgrounds)
  • English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL) — no single cutoff, check program

Timeline

  • Oct 2026 – Jan 2027: most consortia accept applications
  • Feb-Apr 2027: selection
  • Sep 2027: programs start

Deadlines differ per program — check the official catalogue early.

Application tips

  1. Apply to 3 programs max (Erasmus+ rule)
  2. Motivation letter must explain why THIS consortium (which universities, which mobility track)
  3. Get recommendations early — professors are slow in December
  4. Check if your program needs GRE or specific prerequisites
