The 4-paragraph formula (150-200 words)
1. Opener (2 lines): role + why them
Example: “I’m applying for the Marketing Intern role — your recent campus campaign caught my eye because…”
2. Fit (3-4 lines): 2 proof points matching the job
Example: “At [X], I grew Instagram engagement 40% in 3 months by…”
3. Why you want it (2 lines): genuine, specific
